"I am the most excited of the realization of just how fit I actually am! I am 50 and the most internally peaceful and hopeful I have ever been. But I am also the most physically fit too. I have only been running since February 2014 and almost immediately was throwing down 5-10 miles. I share with runners who are amazed at what I am doing. I am not fast, but I seem to be strong and good at endurance. I try not to brag, but I find myself going on with excitement to anyone who will listen. Fit feels so good!"

"I am 26 now and fitness has become more than important in my life, it's what my life revolves around. I started running, casually, four or more years ago and in the last two and a half years have joined a triathlon club in Edmonton, Kinsmen Triathlon Club (KTC). I have raced several Olympic Distance Triathlons and this June I will be heading into my first Half Ironman: Boulder 70.3. Training is such an amazing and important part of my life, physically, mentally and also socially. I met my best friends through KTC and I look forward to workouts daily. I cannot imagine what my life would be like without triathlon and the amazing community I have found. "I couldn't have been a happy person had I not had horses consistently throughout my life...if I hadn't had horses, to force me to get out of the house and take care of them, I wouldn't have the strength I have today." "Dear future me... "You wake up early and are ready to go! The exercise is low impact. In the pool, we are known as the “talking heads!” (In deep-water aerobics, your head stays above the water.) It’s great for flexibility, strength and the social benefits. We share what’s going on in our daily lives and support one another. There has been a lot of laughter, and we love making friends." "I'm...working out more regularly and happily than I ever have. That means I have better stamina for harder workouts and more energy throughout my day. I've also noticed that regular exercise has kept my migraines and asthma in check. I can see muscle definition coming back to my arms, abs, and legs, and yoga moves that felt far beyond my reach a few months ago are now a part of my practice. But the mental shift still feels like the most profound change. I find myself racing through work in the afternoons to ensure I don't miss my favorite yoga classes." "There were definitely a few times I remember sitting in the school principal’s office telling him I wished I were dead. "No matter where you begin, everyone can do yoga. We become stronger, more flexible, more accepting of who we are....We all need a break from the chaos that our lives have become. There is so much dis-ease in our world and many health issues are related. Yoga can help relieve that stress!"
